About Pull Up The Roots

Pull Up The Roots are independent promoters of unforgettable shows featuting old, new, traditional and alternative music for pin-drop audiences at London's most intimate & atmospheric venues

Pull Up The Roots promotes weekly shows at Clerkenwell's Slaughtered Lamb, as well as irregular events at more of London's finest venues: Union Chapel, Bush Hall, Lexington, as well as at the capital's lesser known gems, such as Cecil Sharp House, Tabernacle and Islington Assembly Hall.

Highlights have included debut UK headline shows by the likes of The Civil Wars and The Low Anthem, London debuts for Drever McCusker Woomble and Anais Mitchell's 'Hadestown' at Union Chapel, as well as unannounced special guest appearances by the likes of Jackson Browne and Loudon Wainwright III, and intimate one-offs for Fionn Regan, Josh T Pearson and Lau at The Slaughtered Lamb.

Pull Up The Roots bridges the gap between grassroots music venues, folk clubs and promoters, and large, high-end, arts venues and organisations. Since 2009, we have promoted music and events from 100-capacity to 1000-capacity venues in London and beyond, with an emphasis on the best contemporary and traditional folk, roots, Americana, world, and other specialist and alternative music forms originating from the UK and across the globe.

Pull Up The Roots was the logical progression from growing Electroacoustic Club into one of London's best regarded series of popular, intimate and hushed shows featuring legends and upstarts at London's most intimate and atmospheric small venue. Electroacoustic Club started life as the first and only promoters at The Slaughtered Lamb in 2004, and has since worked to establish its 120-capacity basement as one of the capital's most credible and renowned small venues.

THE TEAM

Pull Up The Roots and Electroacoustic Club shows are pieced together and co-ordinated by Will Rees and Joe Kelpie, along with a revolving cast of amiling and efficient faces on the door - Christina, Danielle, Bailey and more.
