Though we only met in person during his Doll BY Doll days, when he began recording again, we conversed over the phone for "interviews" that were actually long rambling conversations, and exchanged email throughout the rest of his life. I've written of him extensively, and his music means as much to me as Van Morrison's and Bob Dylan's does. He was a hell of a man, a true wild man in the best sense of the word, and an artist for the ages. There is a roaring, raging silence in the world because of his passing.
